Can I use it in a flood-prone area?
Flooding is a real risk across the Rejang basin. You can't make a kitchen flood-proof — but you can build one that survives the water and dries out, instead of one you have to rip out.
Aluminium and ACP cabinet carcasses don't swell or rot when they get wet, so they survive a flood far better than particleboard — but nothing is truly flood-proof. We design flood-exposed kitchens to dry out and be salvaged, not to be indestructible.
What survives, and what doesn't
- Aluminium & ACP carcass — inorganic, so floodwater can't make it swell or rot
- SPC surfaces have a waterproof core and don't delaminate like laminate on MDF
- Particleboard and MDF are the first to go — they drink water at every edge
- Hardware (hinges, runners) is replaceable if a flood claims it
How we design for a flood-exposed home
- Raised, sealed toe-kicks to keep the base off standing water
- Wet-zone carcass in aluminium/ACP so the structure comes through
- Finishes chosen to be hosed, dried and re-used, not written off
Honest limit: no cabinet is flood-proof. Prolonged submersion, silt and contaminated water still cause damage, and building leaks are excluded from warranty. Our aim is to cut your loss and make recovery possible — not to promise nothing will ever be damaged.
