There are really two jobs, and the right mesh depends on which one you need. For insect control, a fine aluminium or fibreglass mesh in a powder-coated frame keeps mosquitoes and sandflies out while the window or door stays open — fitted as a fixed panel on windows, or a sliding or hinged frame on doors you use daily so it does not tear or sag. For a security layer, a heavier marine-grade stainless-steel mesh in a reinforced frame with a key-lockable handle and proper anchoring resists being cut or pushed through, while still letting air and light through. What is the difference between an insect screen and a security mesh?防虫纱窗与安全网纱有什么区别？
An insect screen uses a fine aluminium or fibreglass mesh to keep mosquitoes and sandflies out while the opening stays open for airflow — its job is ventilation without bugs. A security mesh uses a much heavier marine-grade stainless-steel mesh in a reinforced, anchored, lockable frame to resist being cut or pushed through, so it adds a security layer as well as insect control. Yes — that is the point of mesh rather than a solid grille. Both insect and stainless security mesh let air and light through, so you can keep the window or door open for natural ventilation and still see out.
