Glass & hardware, matched to the zone

Glass is specified for where it lives — wet, high-traffic or fall-protection — not sold as one spec for every job. These are the choices that decide safety, longevity and look.

Tempered (toughened) safety glass

Impact-resistant; if it breaks it granulates into blunt pieces. The standard for showers and balustrades.

Laminated glass夹胶玻璃Kaca berlamina

A bonded interlayer that holds the fragments together if broken — retention and an acoustic upgrade, not a storm or security rating on its own.粘合胶片让玻璃破裂时碎片仍连在一起——是碎片固持与隔音升级，本身不是防风暴或防盗等级。Lapisan antara yang dilekatkan yang menahan serpihan bersama jika pecah — penahanan dan naik taraf akustik, bukan penarafan ribut atau keselamatan dengan sendirinya.

Framed vs. frameless

Frameless uses thicker glass and more hardware (cleaner, costs more); a slim aluminium frame is budget-friendly and suits out-of-true walls.

Hinges, clamps, channels and standoff fixings sized to the zone and its moisture.

Low-iron / clear glass

Low-iron reads clearer with less green tint for feature, display and mirror glass.

Privacy glass (frosted, fluted, tinted or reflective)

Screens or softens the view for a bathroom, office or partition. Frosted and fluted give privacy day and night; a tint or a reflective coating gives DAYTIME privacy only — after dark, when the room is lit, the view reverses, so pair it with a blind or curtain where night privacy matters.

How the glass is built — and how it breaks

The two safety builds behind every glass job, in section. Tempered crumbles into blunt granules; laminated holds together on its interlayer. Which one suits each zone is confirmed at your site measurement.

Tempered (toughened) glass

Heat-toughened so it is impact-resistant and, if it does break, crumbles into small blunt granules instead of sharp shards. Impact-resistant, not unbreakable — the standard for showers and balustrades.

Laminated glass

Two glass plies bonded to a tough interlayer. If it breaks, the interlayer holds the pieces together so the pane stays in place. Chosen for security, storm exposure and quieter rooms — and wherever a pane must stay put.

No absolute claims: tempered glass is impact-resistant, not unbreakable — it is specified to the right thickness, rating and fixing for the use. A balustrade is a fall-protection element, so its rating, height and fixing are confirmed to suit the structure, never a one-size promise.

Is tempered glass unbreakable?钢化玻璃是不会碎的吗？Adakah kaca terbaja tidak boleh pecah?

No — tempered (toughened) glass is impact-resistant and, if it does break, granulates into blunt pieces instead of shards. It is not unbreakable, so we specify the right thickness, rating and fixing for the use rather than making a zero-risk claim.不——钢化（强化）玻璃抗冲击，即使破碎，也会碎成钝角颗粒而不是尖锐碎片。但它并非不会碎，所以我们按用途指定合适的厚度、等级和固定方式，而不是作出零风险的承诺。Tidak — kaca terbaja (diperkukuh) tahan hentaman dan, jika ia pecah, ia terurai menjadi kepingan tumpul dan bukan serpihan.
