The window is priced on the same per-sqft system rate whichever method you pick; the mechanism and seals are what differ. Tilt-and-turn and folding sit outside the standard systems and are confirmed at your free site measurement.

3 Size & panel arrangement

How the opening is divided — one clean pane, a mullioned run, a corner or a full wall of glass. This composes with the opening method above; the exact size is set in Build & price.

Panel count and special forms change the frame rhythm and the structural check more than the per-sq-ft rate. A corner or floor-to-ceiling composition is validated on the approved drawing at your free site measurement, never on an online figure.

4 Ventilation & openable area

How much of the window is fixed glass versus an opening sash — this composes WITH the opening method above, it doesn't replace it. Sarawak wants cross-ventilation, but every opening sash is also a path for driving rain and insects.

Read this together with your opening method: it sets how much of the aperture is a fixed daylight panel and how much is the sash you chose. More opening area means more airflow but more frame and hardware — the composition is confirmed against the room and elevation at your free site measurement.

5 Glass specification

The same frame can carry very different glass — this is what sets daylight, privacy, heat, sound and safety.

Every ALUMAX window ships 6mm tempered as standard; tints, coatings, obscured finishes and laminated builds — and any combination of them — are specified and priced at your quotation.

6 Weather, heat & acoustic performance

These are exposure flags, not a second glass menu — they steer the glass you chose above, the seal and the hardware, all confirmed at quotation. Every external opening still needs its weatherproof junction, checked at your free site measurement.

7 Safety, security & insect protection

Keep insects out and the room secure — without shutting the window on the airflow you want.

Pick what the opening needs — but note the overlaps so nothing doubles up: a security mesh already keeps insects out (no separate insect mesh needed), and child-safe openings already include the restrictors. The exact mesh, grille or restrictor is confirmed at quotation, and safe opening limits are set against the real sill height at your free site measurement.

8 Hardware, control & maintenance

The handles and the way the window works — how it feels to use, how easy it is to reach, and how it holds up. Locks, multipoint latching and opening restrictors live in the security step, so nothing here doubles up.

Standard manual hardware is the baseline on every window; the flags below are the deliberate upgrades — a premium handle, a firm hold-open, easy-action or accessible handles, or a motor for a high sash. The exact hardware is confirmed at quotation.

9 Frame colour & finish

The frame is aluminium in every case — this chooses its colour and coat, inside and out, to coordinate with doors, facade, roof and interior.
